Gerard van Grinsven, president and CEO of Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital (HFWBH) recently spoke to Talent Plus associates and clients on the eve of the Hospital’s one-year anniversary. Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital’s vision? A passion for service; a commitment to creating an environment of excellence; and successful relationships with the community, patients and employees. The outcome? Turnover at just 4% among employees (after selecting 1,200 from 25,000 applicants) and 99% satisfaction scores when compared to hospitals nationally, hospitals of only their size and hospitals in Michigan (Press Ganey). Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital has become a benchmark for health care moving forward in America with visitors from around the world visiting each day.

Shelli Bardsley, Executive Vice President; and Ralph Murdock, Vice President of Human Resources and Training; both with Idaho Central Credit Union (ICCU), Pocatello, Idaho, take listeners through their journey of "Driving Growth Through Excellent Service." In looking across their competitive financial landscape five years ago, the leadership team at ICCU knew if they wanted to meet their growth goals it would have to be in differentiating themselves through excellent service.  Their focus on selection and fit has driven turnover to half of their credit union industry's average (from 36% to 18%) and how they have increased the number of accounts and deposits, while not appreciably increasing staff.

Talent Plus associate, Larry Sternberg was the keynote speaker at the International Business Brokers Association on Friday, June 18.  He presented, "Why Sales Training Doesn't Work," to business professionals from around the country. If sales training worked, everybody would sell as much as Zig Ziglar!  Sternberg's explained how each person creates his or her success in their own way, using their own unique configuration of strengths and talents.  He provided the tools needed for participants to find their own unique formula which will allow them to better use their time and create improved results.
