Talent Plus Celebrates Our 2020-2021 Social Responsibility Pillars

by Talent Plus

August 21, 2020Culture

At Talent Plus ®, we place special importance on supporting our community. We recognize our civic, charitable and environmental responsibilities and generously donate our time, talent and treasure.

Our Social Responsibility Pillars program focuses our charitable giving efforts, allowing us to work more closely with specific nonprofit organizations to assist them on a variety of levels. During our 12-month partnership we will give nearly $10,000 in donations and solutions to each pillar as we support their mission to make our communities a better place. Additionally, Talent Plus colleagues give time during work hours to volunteer for the organizations of their choosing. Colleagues track hundreds of volunteer hours as they partner with our pillars and other organizations in order to understand our impact and assist in their reporting initiatives and funding requests.

“At Talent Plus, generosity is a guiding principle of our organization. By investing in our communities, and these organizations, we are investing in the future. Whether it be time, talent, or treasure, by supporting these pillars, we are helping ensure the continued growth and well-being of our communities – and helping make the world a better place.”

– Makenzie Rath, President

2020-2021 Social Responsibility Pillars

We are proud to partner with five organizations in 2020-2021: Yellow Ribbon, SEARCH’s House of Tiny Treasures, CEDARS, Child Advocacy Center, and Voices of Hope. Three of our pillars – Voices of Hope, Child Advocacy Center and CEDARS – are returning pillars from last year! Here are some responses from our pillar partners when we announced we would be continuing our partnerships:

“This is amazing! Thank you so much for Talent Plus
and your support!” —Voices of Hope

“Best news EVER!!! We absolutely adore the Talent Plus team and couldn’t be more thrilled to have the opportunity to continue partnering with you. Thank you for all the ways you elevate the CAC and for your dedication to our mission. We are excited to continue working with your team and look forward to all that we will accomplish together again this year!” —Child Advocacy Center

“Thank you so very much to everyone at Talent Plus. We are so grateful for our partnership and everything that Talent Plus does for CEDARS. You are the most amazing neighbors and have helped CEDARS to make a difference in the lives of so many children and families in our community. I look forward to continuing to be able to make an impact with your partnership, and to the time when we can all get back together in person and celebrate together!” —CEDARS

More about our Social Responsibility Pillars of 2020-2021, in their own words:

Yellow Ribbon Singapore is committed to rebuilding the lives of former offenders by helping them enhance their employability potential. Their goal is to help inmates and ex-offenders rebuild their lives and lower the recidivism rate through skills and long-term career development, with an effective aftercare support network. As the lead agency championing acceptance with the themes of hope, forgiveness and second chances for ex-offenders, Yellow Ribbon Singapore strives to build a safer and more inclusive Singapore.   https://www.yellowribbon.gov.sg/

SEARCH pursues a mission of providing hope, creating opportunity and transforming lives of men, women and children who are trying to break free from the cycle of poverty and homelessness. We bring this mission to life every day by helping our clients obtain permanent housing, increase their income, improve their health, develop their children and ultimately achieve independence. SEARCH’s House of Tiny Treasures (HTT) is an early childhood education program that provides developmentally focused childcare for pre-school age children while their parents attend classes and begin working. Nutritious meals, education and intensive art, play and traditional therapy fulfill student needs. Most client families reside in area shelters and other housing programs. SEARCH’s House of Tiny Treasures (HTT) is Houston’s most recognized therapeutic center dedicated to providing this unique clientele with essential opportunities to prepare young children to succeed in school. Our goal is to equip each child with the skills needed to reach his or her maximum potential, and be prepared for kindergarten.  https://www.searchhomeless.org/about/mission-core-values/

Helping children who face seemingly insurmountable odds is the important work of CEDARS. Today’s reality is harsh, and the challenges disturbing. All homes today are not safe for every child. Poverty, drug use, mental illness, criminal activity and neglect place children at extreme risk. CEDARS continues to respond, giving hope to youth in need and direction to families struggling to stay together. It is the mission of CEDARS to help children achieve safety, stability and enduring family relationships.   https://cedarskids.org/who-we-are/our-mission-and-history/

The mission of the Child Advocacy Center is to provide Lincoln, Lancaster County and Southeast Nebraska with a coordinated, team approach to the problem of child abuse. Our goals are to reduce trauma, seek justice and foster hope and healing for children and their non-offending caregivers. The Child Advocacy Center establishes a safe, child friendly environment for interviews and medical evaluations for the alleged child victim and offers continued support to the child and non-offending family members.   https://www.smallvoices.org/

Voices of Hope‘s primary focus is on crisis intervention services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and related forms of abuse. By listening to the clients and respecting their decisions and by providing information, counseling, advocacy and case management, they will be empowered to make the best decisions possible toward achieving safety and economic self-sufficiency for themselves and their families.  https://www.voicesofhopelincoln.org/
