As Thanksgiving approaches, I take time to reflect on my personal feelings of gratitude and community. It’s easy to get swept up in daily tasks and busyness, but the end of the year offers us a perfect reminder to pause, reflect and acknowledge the significance of our relationships and shared successes.
At Talent Plus, we often talk about the importance of being a trusted partner. Being a trusted partner means more than support; it reflects our commitment to building sustainable strategies, fostering growth, and driving meaningful change across every area of your business. From developing people and refining operations to tackling complex challenges, we’re invested in understanding your vision and working alongside you to unlock opportunities that create lasting impact.
Carrying Thanksgiving Spirit Beyond the Season
Thanksgiving shouldn’t be the only time we give thanks. Similarly, expressing gratitude to colleagues shouldn’t happen solely during annual reviews or other specific milestones. I’m always thinking about how I can celebrate our team’s unique contributions. I love finding ways to reward and reinforce talent in action or reading someone’s Talent Card to understand their strengths and recognize where they’ve grown.
Here are some simple but impactful ways to foster gratitude in the workplace:
- Begin each team check-in by sharing a success or “kudos” from the past week.
- Don’t underestimate the power of a handwritten note to say thank you. I still save all the notes I’ve received in this format – it’s incredibly special.
- Perhaps most importantly, ask every team member how they like to be recognized. Some people appreciate public recognition, while others prefer private thanks. By understanding what each person values, the “thank you” will feel more genuine.
In this season of gratitude, please know that we value every conversation, every goal we set together and every opportunity to support your team’s success. As we look ahead to another year, we’re excited to continue this journey with you, standing as partners committed to achieving meaningful impact together.
Let the seconds move slower this week and enjoy time with your friends and loved ones. When we return from the holiday, we can then carry the warmth with us back into our offices — extending gratitude to our colleagues, teams, clients and throughout our communities.
Thank you for trusting us to be part of your story. Wishing you a warm and wonderful Thanksgiving.
