About this episode:
Judge Steadman was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. He earned his law degree from Harvard Law School in 1955, where he served as an editor of the Harvard Law Review. After several years in private practice, he took a position in the Office of Legal Counsel of the United States Department of Justice. Thereafter, he served as Deputy Undersecretary of the Army, International Affairs, Special Assistant to the Secretary of Defense and General Counsel of the Department of the Air Force. Upon leaving government service, Judge Steadman became a visiting Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center. He was also Associate Academic Dean at Georgetown from 1978 to 1984. Judge Steadman was appointed to the District of Columbia Court of Appeals in 1985 by President Ronald Reagan. He assumed Senior Judge status in October 2004. We’re anxious to learn about his experiences and perspective on mentoring.
